Ivan Kral‘s legacy honors music stars across generations at Prague’s Křižík Fountain on September 12, 2021. A special concert tribute takes place as part of the Metronome Prague Warm Up festival. Artists such as Jiří Suchý, Miro Žbirka, Lenka Dusilová, Aneta Langerová, Lenny, Ivan Hlas, Petr Fiala, Albert Černý, Janek Ledecký, Debbi, Tonya Graves, Saša Langošová, Phil Shoenfelt, Honza Křížek and Circus Ponorka will all commemorate the most famous compositions across the career of the most famous Czech rock musician Ivan Kral, a former teammate and collaborator of Patti Smith, Iggy Pop or David Bowie. Songs written, co-written and produced by Kral will be performed by an accompanying band composed for the occasion by his longtime sideman, guitarist Jan Ponocný. Hits including Dancing Barefoot, Bang Bang, Pumping for Jill, Because the Night, Mám Tvůj Stín or Winner Takes All and many others are sung by almost two dozen artists. The week of events dedicated to Ivan Kral will culminate with a concert tribute to Forever Kral. It will start on September 7 at 2 pm with a debate on relations on the Czech-American music scene in the library of the American Embassy, which will be moderated by publicist Ondřej Konrád. A day later, on September 8 from 6 pm, friends and fans can come and say goodbye to Ivan Kral at a public funeral mass in the Church of Our Lady before Týn. The concert is organized by Metronome Prague in cooperation with the music monthly Headliner and Cindy Hudson Kral.
